The Commission is aware that concerns have been raised about the construction of a nuclear power plant (NPP) in Akkuyu. The Commission notes nevertheless the nuclear stress test assessment report prepared by Turkey, covering also seismic risks, which is available online. This report is still to be assessed. However, it is not for the Commission to take a position on the suitability of sites for the construction of NPPs in third countries.
PR - MEP M. Kyrkos posed a question to the European Commission about the licencing of waterways and seaplanes, during the conference on blue growth and the european maritime policy, which was organised in cooperation with the Conference of peripheral maritime regions (CPRM).
M. Kyrkos, as a member of the European Parliament's Tourism Task Force, as well as the Intergroup on seas, rivers, islands and coastal areas, asked the Commission if there are any barriers on licencing of seaplanes and waterways, since Greece is in risk to be yet another year without seaplanes.
